The Samsung S10 Ultra is available at Samsung retail stores nationwide and comes with a 24-month warranty. The recommended retail price is KES 189,000. The tablet will be available in two colors: Moonstone grey and Platinum silver.

Desig & Build

This device has a solid build, measuring just 5.4mm thick, making it surprisingly slim for a device with a large battery. The front is protected by glass with a Mohs hardness rating of 5, which indicates a moderate level of scratch resistance.

The frames and the back are made of aluminum, hence strengthening its durability. It has an IP68 dust and water-resistant rating, which means it can be immersed in water at a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

Display

The S10 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1848 x 2960 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz, offering a peak brightness of 930 nits. 

This ensures vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling during use. Additionally, the screen-to-body ratio is 90.7%, which means the bezels around the screen are very narrow, maximizing the display area.

Performance

Under the hood, the tablet features the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ fabricated under a 4nm architecture. Despite the chipset being one year old, it’s still a capable processor and handles every task, and plays the most demanding titles.

It comes in three storage variants: 256GB, 12GB RAM, 512GB, 12GB RAM, 1TB, 16GB RAM, and also includes a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Battery and Charging

The tablet features a large 11,200mAh battery that is designed to last an entire day, depending on your usage. However, it's worth noting that while the battery is solid, it may not be exceptional considering the tablet's size and the higher resolution of its display.

It is also paired with a 45W charger, which takes just over 2 hours to fully charge from 0-100.

Camera Setup

The Tab S10 Ultra is equipped with a dual camera setup on the back, featuring a 13MP main camera with autofocus and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies or group shots, it also has dual cameras on the front, consisting of a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

Both the front and the back can record videos up to 4k resolution at 30fps. Unfortunately, neither the front nor the back camera features Optical Image Stabilisation, but this can be forgiven since tablets aren’t camera-centric; the main focus is usually on the display.

S pen

Samsung was kind enough to include an S Pen inside the box. The S pen has evolved from a simple stylus to a powerful and versatile tool. It also provides a natural and responsive writing experience.

You can use the S Pen to take notes, create screen-off memos, and convert handwritten notes into digital text for easier searching and editing. The S Pen features 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
