Galaxy A57 Retail Price Leak & Specs
Recent rumors, courtesy of well-known leaker Billbil_kun, suggested the Samsung Galaxy A57 could hit a staggering €750 to €799 (roughly $850 to $900) in certain European markets like France.
At first glance, this sounds absurd for a mid-range phone. However, that sky-high price tag is specifically tied to a rumored 512GB variant, marking the first time we are getting a half-terabyte of storage on an A50 series device.
While the entry-level 128GB version was rumored to start at a whopping €549, a brand-new leak has emerged on X that paints a much more grounded picture for the rest of the world.
The Real Pricing Breakdown: The Thailand Leak
A leaked image of an official Galaxy A57 retail display in Thailand gives us concrete numbers. Based on the promotional card, here is what the A57 will actually cost:
12GB RAM / 256GB Storage: $555 USD (approx. KES 73,000)
12GB RAM / 512GB Storage: $645 USD (approx. KES 85,000)
While this is far from the $900 doomsday rumor, it still represents a noticeable increase. If this Thailand pricing is adopted globally, the A57 base model will see a price jump of about $61 USD compared to last year's Galaxy A56.
Why the Price Hike?
This steep increase can largely be attributed to one main factor: the global RAM shortage. Prices for memory have skyrocketed due to the ongoing AI craze across the tech industry.
The hardware bottleneck is pushing budget and mid-range phones like the A57 closer to flagship pricing territory, even without delivering full flagship features.
We already saw this play out with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, which saw a $100 USD price increase across the base and models due to the same RAM shortage, even though Samsung bumped the base storage from 128GB to 256GB to soften the blow.
Confirmed Specs and Design from the Leak
The phone will come with three storage configurations this time around: 128GB 6GB, 256GB 8GB, 256GB 12GB, and 512GB 12GB for specific markets.
The A57 comes in three colour ways: Purple, Navy, and Gray. I have seen alleged videos of the A57, and the back is really glossy, so it might be a fingerprint magnet.
Other features include Gorilla Glass Victus+, IP 68 rated, it comes with Exynos 1680, with 6 major OS updates. Out of the box, the phone comes with Android 16 out of the box with OneUI 8 skinned on top.
The display is a 6.7-inch super AMOLED paired with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth swipes, it comes with HDR10+ and a peak brightness of up to 1900nits.
On the camera side of things, the phones will use a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens for aesthetics. At the front, the phone will have a 12MP main selfie shooter. Both the front and the rear cameras will record videos up to 4K resolution.
Powering this phone is a 5000mAh battery, which supports up to 45W wired charging; you will buy the charger separately.
Verdict: Is the Price Hike Justified?
The $61 USD price hike on the base A57 is a lot, but it was expected due to the RAM shortage that is affecting every sector, including the laptop and PC market.
The smartphone is pretty big, and if these prices are anything to go by, then I am pretty sure you can find better deals from other smartphone manufacturers. For now, we have to wait until the next lineup of the A series launches.
