Tecno Spark 50 Pro Launches With a 6000mAh Battery That Lasts Up to 6 Years
A few weeks after introducing the Tecno Spark 50, Tecno has just launched its bigger brother, the Tecno Spark 50 Pro.
What stands out from the Pro model is the inclusion of a 50MP Sony camera, a huge 6000mAh battery, and it’s fairly thin, coming in at 7.8 thick.

Tecno Spark 50 Pro Specs and Features: Is It Worth It?
The phone measures 6.78-inch LCD with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. The display being an LCD panel, you don’t get the inky blacks and immersive visuals while watching content in that huge display.
The good news is that the 120Hz refresh rate will smooth out your scrolling, and while playing games, the frames can be smoother.
There is also an iPhone 17 Pro-inspired camera plate design, which is something that many manufacturers are copying right now, including Xiaomi and Infinix, so it’s not a surprise to see Tecno following the trend.

Unpacking the 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 Camera
At the back of the phone, there is a 50MP Sony camera, but when you look at the phone closely, you might think that the Spark 50 Pro has more than one camera, but that is not the case.
The extra layouts, which look like cameras, are the gimmicky macro and auxiliary lenses, but Tecno added them for aesthetic purposes, so don’t be fooled.
I am not gonna lie, though, the camera layout, including the flashlight positioning, looks really cool.
The 50MP Sony camera should do a good job in well-lit environments, but might struggle in dark environments because it lacks OIS.
At the front, there is an 8MP selfie shooter for casual selfies and photos of your pet.
Tecno has included some AI tools for the cameras, like AI eraser 2.0 and the flashsmap which is capable of 1/10,000s shutter speeds to freeze motion.
MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate: Smooth Everyday Performance
Under the hood, the Spark 50 Pro is using the Mediatek Helio G100, which has been reused by many smartphones, including some Tecno phones.
The Mediatek G100 is no different from the G99, and the G200 hasn’t improved much from the G100.
When it comes to gaming, performance should be smooth on less demanding games like Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile, but on demanding titles like Genshin Impact, performance might throttle, and the phone might get hot to the touch.
According to performance benchmark results, the Mediatek Helio G100 has a single-core score of 727 and a multi-core score of 2014.
The phone is paired with 8GB RAM and 256 GB of storage; the RAM can be expanded up to 24 GB.
There is a dedicated SD card slot to expand your storage.
Spark 50 Pro Battery Life: 6000mAh & 60W Fast Charging
The main highlight of Spark 50 Pro has to be its huge 6000mAh battery paired with a 60W fast charger, which juices up the phone from 0-63% in just 30 minutes.
There are two battery variants that most people should be aware of: a 5600mAh dual-cell battery and a 6000mAh single-cell battery.
We all know lithium batteries start degrading after 3-4 years, but Tecno claims that the battery on the Spark 50 Pro can retain 80% up to 6 years, that is 1,900 charging cycles.
Premium Durability: IP69 Rating & 7.8mm Profile
The Spark 50 Pro is well built.
The phone is IP68/69 dust and water-resistant, you can take it to the shower or swimming, and the phone will be just fine, but note that in case of any damage by water, it is not covered under warranty.
The display is made of glass, but it’s not clear which type of glass; both sides and the back are made of plastic.
Price and Availability in Kenya
Tecno has not yet revealed the official Kenyan price of the Spark 50 Pro, but based on its specifications and Tecno's previous launches, the smartphone is expected to retail at around KES 20,000.
Once the device arrives in Kenya, buyers will be able to purchase it from authorized Tecno stores, major phone retailers, Safaricom shops, and popular online marketplaces such as Jumia and Kilimall.
Conclusion & The Final Verdict
The Tecno Spark 50 Pro is a reliable smartphone, mainly due to its huge 6000mAh battery, good durability, and a competent main camera for photography, as well as premium gaming performance
