The A07 5G goes for 5,400 THB, which is about $170, and in Kenya, that converts to around KES 22,000.
While the hardware screams entry level, and especially the display, which has a tear drop notch, its life span is the real killer feature.

The Game Changer: 6 Years of Updates Explained
This phone is expected to get 6 years of software updates, and as far as I know, Samsung is the only company to support their budget phones for this long.
Most smartphone brands prioritize their flagship phones but only support their budget phones for one or two years.
The Samsung A07 5G's commitment to six years of software updates offers several key advantages. This extended support ensures the phone remains secure for an extended period, protecting sensitive data, including banking applications, for half a decade.
Furthermore, this longevity helps maintain the device's resale value, making it possible to sell it for a reasonable price or trade it in for a newer model even after two or three years. Finally, by enabling users to keep their phones for a longer duration, the six years of software updates contribute significantly to reducing e-waste.
Hardware Analysis: Good Enough for 2031?
Display
The Samsung A07 5G features a 6.7-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720 by 1600 pixels. It also has a peak brightness of 800 nits, so using this phone under direct sunlight might be a real struggle. Indoor use should not be an issue.
The display has a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth swipes and scrolling throughout the UI.
For those who watch a lot of videos, the display might not offer the perfect balance compared to what an AMOLED display does, but it will get the job done.
If you are planning to keep this phone for 6 years, it will definitely feel outdated with that LCD display.
Performance
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 6300 (6nm).
The chipset will get the job done for scrolling through social media and playing lightweight games. Comparing it to the Mediatek Helio G99, we don’t see a big margin. I am thinking the major difference might be the 5G connectivity on the Dimensity 6300.
On board, the phone comes with 128GB 4GB RAM and 128GB 6GB RAM; these are the only two options that we get. There is no 256GB storage or 8GB RAM. This might be due to the memory shortage affecting smartphones and laptops because of AI demand.
Battery
The A07 5G will have a fairly huge 6000maH battery, which is above the industry standard, and it’s the main selling point of this phone. It will have a maximum charging speed of 25W, and as usual with Samsung smartphones, you don’t get a charger inside the box; you have to buy a compatible one separately.
Comparison A07 5G vs. The Market
Comparing the A07 5G vs the Redmi 15 5G, we can see that Samsung's A07 5G is lagging behind in terms of perfomance, storage, and the display; the Redmi has better specs, which cost the same as the A07 5G.
If you really value software updates, go with the A07 5G, but if you want good performance, a better display, a bigger battery, and more storage options, then the Redmi 15 5G is your best pick at this price.
Conclusion & Buying Advice
You remember that quote from MKBHD that says “Never. Ever. Buy a tech product based on the promise of future software updates”, I think I can now agree with him that you should never buy a gadget based on the promise of future software update especially in budgets smartphones but in flagship smartphones the promise of software updates really matter as long as they keep their word.
So basically the Samsung A07 5G is for those who are buying a smartphone for the first time, and they don’t want an expensive phone, for those seeking a secondary device without breaking the bank, or the parents buying for their kids or seniors.
