Samsung Galaxy A57 & A37 Prices Jump — But the Galaxy S25 FE Might Be the Smarter Buy

Samsung finally launched the much-anticipated next generation of the Galaxy A series, the A37 and A57, on March 25, 2026, which are very popular among Sammy fans and have generated buzz.

This time around, things are a bit different: Samsung has hiked prices by $50 across the board due to the ongoing memory shortage, which we are starting to feel it.

This is because of the high-bandwidth memory demand in AI data centres, which has forced suppliers to reprioritize, leading to a 14% increase in the average smartphone cost.

Breaking Down the New Prices

For starters, the Galaxy A36 launched at $399; the A37 launched at $450, a $50 increase that's a huge jump, and you are also getting less. The 8GB 256 GB variant on the A57 has been launched at 540$ 

On the other hand, the Galaxy A56 launched at $499, compared to $550 for the 6GB/128GB and $610 for the 8GB/25GB on the A57.

The Premium Steal: Why the Galaxy S25 FE is a Better Buy

When you look at those numbers, the Galaxy S25 FE is the obvious choice. You can grab it for about $580 on Amazon right now, making it a much smarter buy than the fully-loaded A57.

For that price, the S25 FE packs a serious punch. You're stepping up to the much faster Exynos 2400 chip and a vastly superior camera setup, featuring a solid 50MP main shooter, an 8MP telephoto, and a 12MP ultra-wide.

The rear cameras on the Galaxy S25FE can record videos at up to 8 K resolution. Even though this is a gimmick, you get more for less in the end and it can record up t 4k resolution on its ultrawide lens which is somehting the A57's ultrawide lens can't do.

The S25FE also supports Samsung Dex, which is something we don’t see on the A37 or A57.

The only area where the A57 slightly edges out the S25FE is in battery capacity; the A57 has a 5000mAh battery, while the S25FE has a 4900mAh battery but the much efficient chipset on the S25FE will make it last longer.

The S25FE also supports 45W wired PD QC2, 15W reverse wireless charging Qi2, and reverse wireless charging, all of which are lacking on the Galaxy A57.

Overall, the S25FE will perform better for gaming and scrolling through the UI without any hiccups, which I'm pretty sure you might experience on the A37 or the A57. You also get support for Samsung DeX and Samsung Wireless DeX on the S25FE.

The Value Play: Sticking with the Galaxy A36 & A56

The new A37 and A57 offer very minimal upgrades, and you would be better off buying the previous generation, the A36 or A56.

Right now, the A36 retails for about $350 for the 6GB/128GB model, while the 8GB/256 GB model retails for $424.

Truth be told, you really aren't missing out on much by skipping the A37. The upgrades are pretty minor and you get an IP68 water and dust resistance rating instead of IP67, and a marginally better processor. But in real-world usage? You absolutely won't notice a difference in performance unless you're actively looking for one...and that is pretty much it.

Switching to the Galaxy A57 and the Galaxy A56, the story is the same; the upgrades are very minimal. The A57 again brings a better chipset than the A56: Exynos 1680 (4nm) vs Exynos 1580 (4nm) on the A56.

On the camera front, the A57 ultrawide lens has been upgraded to a 12MP snapper, up from 8MP on the previous generation A56, so you should expect better pictures and videos on the A57.

The A57 has WI-FI 6e and bluetooth 6 compared to WI-FI 6 and bluetooth 5.3 on the A56, which is something most people can live with if they went for the Galaxy A56.

Conclusion & Final Verdict

Don't get me wrong, the Galaxy A37 and A57 are great phones on their own. But with the global memory shortage driving up prices across the board, it's really hard to recommend buying either of them right now at launch.

For budget-conscious buyers, I highly recommend going for last year's A series, as they have already been discounted by most third-party retailers, including Amazon, and you won’t miss out much compared to the A57.
