Samsung Galaxy A57 Launching in Kenya on April 10th at KES 80,000 – Here’s What to Expect
Samsung has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 globally, with both devices expected to make their debut in the Kenyan market on April 10, 2026.

Design and Build Quality: A Premium Shift
Samsung didn’t put much effort into upgrading the A57's design; there are only a few minor upgrades.
You get a slim profile coming at 6.9mm compared to 7.4mm on the Galaxy A56. The A57 has an aluminium frame, and the front and back glass is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.
This time around, Samsung upgraded the IP rating to IP68, dust- and water-tight, bringing it in line with most flagships, up from IP67 on the A56.
The A57 has three color ways: Navy, Gray, Iceyblue, and Lilac.
Display: Super AMOLED Plus
Samsung decided to bring back the Super AMOLED Plus display, which offers more accurate colors, brightness boost, and a sharper look up close.
The display size is 6.7 inches FHD+, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, and offers up to 1900 nits of peak brightness. Using the A57 under direct sunlight shouldn’t be an issue.
Samsung also included goodies such as HDR10+, but unfortunately, there is now PWM dimming, so those with sensitive eyes will have to look elsewhere.
Performance, AI Features, and Software
Under the hood, the Samsung A57 is powered by the Exynos 1680 (4nm). According to benchmark results, we don’t see a huge difference.
In the single-core score, the Exynos 1680 (4nm) only shows a 2% increase, and in the multi-core score, it improves by only 14% compared to the Exynos 1580 (4nm).
The Exynos 1680 (4nm) is almost identical in design, making the performance uplift almost negligible.
Overall, the Exynos 1680 (4nm) will be able to handle your day-to-day activities with minimal lags from playing less demanding titles to scrolling through the entire UI, the experience should be smooth.
The Wi-Fi connectivity has been upgraded to Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth connectivity has been upgraded to Bluetooth 6.0.
The A57 comes in five memory configurations; however, some storage configurations might not be available in certain regions. The storage configurations include 128GB with 8GB RAM, 256GB with 8GB RAM, 256GB with 12GB RAM, and 512GB with 12GB RAM.
AI Features
Samsung has also introduced a handful of AI-powered features on the Galaxy A57, including Edit Suggestions, which intelligently scans your photos and recommends enhancements like adding background blur or removing unwanted shadows and reflections.
Object Eraser is another AI-powered tool that lets you remove unwanted elements from your photos, with Samsung promising clean, natural-looking results. That said, I wouldn’t expect it to match the level of precision you get on its flagship siblings, like the S26 series. We’ll be putting that claim to the test in our full review.
Best Face is another AI feature Samsung has added, which lets you combine multiple shots into a single photo.
Software
The Galaxy A57 ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, and Samsung is promising up to 6 years of OS and security updates, and an impressively long support window. It’s also worth noting that Samsung remains one of the few brands extending this level of software commitment even to its more affordable devices.
Camera System: Upgraded Nightography
The camera system on the Galaxy A57 has been upgraded slightly. First of all, we get a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens (upgraded from the 8MP on the A56), and the usual 5MP macro lens for up-close shots.
The front snapper is a 12MP. Both the rear and selfie cameras can shoot videos at up to 4K resolution.
Some of the things Samsung says are new for the camera are better nightography, so less noise and a brighter look for your nighttime shots, super HDR for videos on the selfie camera, so enhanced saturation, boosted brightness, AI assisted portrait snaps for enhanced details and better portrait separation.
Samsung also claims they have removed the blur when switching between lenses, and zoomed videos are smoother than on the A56.
Battery Life and Charging
The Galaxy A57's battery remains the same at 5000 mAh, and it might last you for two days, depending on your usage, thanks to the much more efficient processor.
The A57 5G supports 45W wired charging, and that’s it, no wireless charging or reverse wireless charging, and you also don’t get a charger inside the box.
Final Verdict: Should You Buy It?
So, what’s actually new with the Galaxy A57? Honestly, it’s more of a subtle upgrade than a big leap. It’s a bit slimmer, packs a little more power under the hood, and the display looks slightly more vibrant. Camera performance also seems to have gotten a mild boost for both photos and video. But here’s the catch—it’s also the most expensive the A-series has ever been.
Who is the Samsung Galaxy A57 for? Well, if you are someone coming from the tried-and-true A52s or an A54, or maybe a cheaper, lesser A-series phone like an A35, then the A57 could be the big upgrade you’ve been waiting for the last couple of years, or perhaps you are okay waiting one more year.
