Is Samsung Finally in Trouble? Oppo Find N6 Arrives to Disrupt the Z Fold
Oppo has officially unveiled its top-tier foldable flagship in Kenya: the Oppo Find N6.
This time around, they have seriously leveled up the display.
There is practically no visible crease or, as Oppo calls it, the “Zero-Feel Crease,” thanks to a heavily re-engineered hinge mechanism.
They have also packed in a massive 6000mAh battery and a staggering 200MP main camera. The Find N6 is shaping up to be a true market disruptor here in Kenya, positioning itself as a fierce direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Design and Display: The "Zero-Feel Crease"
Starting off with the display of the Oppo Find N6, they have what they call the “Zero-Feel Crease,” which hides the crease from view and makes it almost imperceptible when you run your finger across it. If you're just using the device normally, you won’t even feel the crease.
Don’t get me wrong, when you tilt the device at just the right angle, you can kinda see the crease, it’s there, but you have to tilt the device to see it.
According to the YouTuber Dave2D, he states that it feels like a smooth, continuous piece of glass.

The magic here is in Oppo's second-generation titanium flexion hinge, but instead of standard machining, Oppo is laser-scanning each individual hinge with 0.3-micron precision.
They then apply microscopic droplets of a photopolymer and cure it with UV light, repeating the process 20 times, layer by layer.
The engineering here drops the hinge's height variation from 0.2mm down to a mere 0.05mm.
In practical terms, this makes the mechanism 75% smoother than what we typically see on the foldable market right now. By the time the flexible OLED panel sits on top of it, the surface is nearly flawless.
The display is an LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling while navigating the UI and playing games.
Oppo has also included some goodies, such as 2160Hz PWM dimming for those with sensitive eyes, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and up to 3600 nits of peak brightness.
In terms of build quality, the Oppo Find N6 is IP58 and IP59 certified, which means it offers full dust protection and protection against water under high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.
The “Zero-Feel Crease” is good for everyday use, like reading or media consumption.
Performance & AI Features (The Powerhouse)
Under the hood, the Oppo Find N6 is powered by the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (3nm). You will have no performance issues here.
The phone is paired by either 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 16GB RAM, 1TB 16GB RAM.
On the software side, the phone ships with Android 16 out of the box, along with Oppo's ColorOS 16, and Oppo has promised up to 5 years of OS support and up to 6 years of security patching.
Oppo has integrated a few AI features, such as AI recording, AI mind space, and AI painter, which transforms hand-drawn notes and drafts into polished charts.
Cameras: A Mobile Photography Studio
On to the cameras, the Oppo Find N6 comes with a 200MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
At the front, there is a 50MP selfie snapper with EIS. Both the rear and front cameras can record videos at up to 4 K resolution.

On the battery front, this is one of the few foldables that packs a humongous 6000mAh battery thanks to silicon-carbon technology, which is a huge leap for a foldable smartphone.

On charging, it supports 80W fast charging, 44W UFS for interoperable fast charging across different brands like Xiaomi, 55W PPS, which dynamically adjusts voltage and current in real time based on the battery’s current state of charge, and 18W PD/QC.

As of the publication of this article, the phone is available for pre-order and may retail for between KES 185,000 and 195,000.
