Oppo A6 Pro 5G and 4G Set to Launch in Kenya on October 23

Oppo has established itself as a prominent brand in the Kenyan market, boasting an impressive 7.62 percent market share. This growth is fueled by Oppo's strategic approach to launching smartphones tailored to various demographics, effectively diversifying its product offerings to meet the needs of all Kenyans.
The Oppo A6 Pro will be launched on October 23rd in Kenya, competing against the Infinix Note 50s 5G and the Redmi 15 5G.
Oppo A6 Pro 5G vs 4G: What’s the Difference?
These two phones are mostly identical in almost every aspect apart from the processor and storage, which to some might or might not be a deal breaker.
Display and Design: Premium Look, Midrange Price
The displays on these phones are completely identical. Both feature the same AMOLED 120Hz display with a peak brightness of 1,400 nits, which is adequate by today’s standards and suitable for use under direct sunlight.
Both devices feature an impressive display with a resolution of 1080 by 2372 pixels, delivering exceptional clarity and detail. The 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling experiences, which enhances overall usability.
Additionally, gamers will benefit from improved frame rates during gameplay, providing a more seamless experience. The display is also equipped with an integrated optical fingerprint scanner, offering advanced security and convenience in daily operations.
Design
The design of both the Oppo A6 Pro 5G and 4G is eerily similar. At the back, there is a camera island that houses two cameras and a flashlight.
Both phones are IP68/69 dust and water-resistant, and they can be submerged in water up to a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
On the right side, you get your usual volume rocker keys, and at the bottom, there is a speaker, a microphone, and a USB-C charger.
Unfortunately, with both of these phones, there is no headphone jack. Both the Oppo A6 Pro 5G and 4G come with four different colours: Lunar Titanium, Stellar blue, and Rosewood Red.
Camera Capabilities: Dual Setup, AI-Powered Shots
Both the 5G and 4G versions of the Oppo A6 Pro feature identical camera specifications: a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.
Neither model includes any form of stabilization, which may result in shaky video recordings unless the user possesses exceptionally steady hands or utilizes a gimbal.
Both phones are equipped with a 16MP front-facing camera. However, 4K recording is not supported on either device; video recording is limited to 1080p at 120fps on the rear cameras.
The cameras have a few AI features, such as AI night mode, which Oppo claims enhances clarity, brightness, and details in the dark.
There is also an AI portrait, which enhances your features with adjustable smoothing and brightness.
Performance and Battery: Built for Everyday Power
On the processor is where we see a slight difference between the Oppo A6 Pro 5G and 4G. In some regions, the 5G model has the Dimensity 7300 (4nm), and this is mainly in China; the rest of the world, including Kenya, will likely get the Dimensity 6300(6nm).
On the other hand, the 4G variant has a Mediatek Helio G100 processor (6nm). Surprisingly, both of these chipsets are not far apart in terms of performance.
According to Nano Review, the Mediatek Helio G100 has an antutu score of 422632, and the Dimensity 6300 has an Antutu score of 425577, which is only a 1 percent increase in performance.
Both phones will launch with Android 15 and colourOS 15 out of the box, and Oppo has sprinkled a few AI features, such as AI game boost, AI linkboost 3.0, which automatically adapts to your environment for stronger, smart signal performance.
Battery
The battery in both of these phones is a silicon-carbon 7000 mAh battery and should last you two or more days of use, depending on your usage.
Both the Oppo A6 Pro 5G and its 4G counterpart are expected to have similar battery efficiency and consumption due to their comparable processor architectures.
Each phone will come with an 80W fast charger, which Oppo claims can fully charge the device in just 50 minutes.
Additionally, they will feature 33W Programmable Power Supply (PPS) technology, which combines 33W power output with a programmable feature for faster and more efficient charging of compatible devices. Furthermore, the phones will also offer 13.5W Power Delivery (PD) reverse wired charging.
Furthermore, both models will integrate 33W PPS (Programmable Power Supply) charging technology.
This system intelligently combines a 33W power output with the PPS protocol, which dynamically adjusts voltage and current to facilitate a faster, more efficient, and optimally managed charge for compatible devices. This mechanism ensures precise power delivery, thereby minimizing charging duration and enhancing battery longevity.
In addition to standard charging, the Oppo A6 Pro 5G and 4G will also feature 13.5W PD (Power Delivery) reverse wired charging. This functionality allows the smartphone to serve as a portable power bank, enabling users to charge other compatible devices by establishing a direct cable connection to their Oppo A6 Pro.
Oppo A6 Pro Series price in Kenya and Availability
Oppo A6 Pro 5G and 4G will be available in select stores in the country, including all Oppo outlets, Safaricom outlets, and partners like Phone Place Kenya and online retail stores like Jumia and Kilimall.

In the past two years, Oppo has been expanding its range of smartphones in the Kenyan market, offering options from budget models to cutting-edge flagships. This trend continues with the upcoming launch of the Oppo A6 Pro, available in both 5G and 4G variants.
Speaking on the launch, Fredrique Achieng, PR Manager at Oppo Kenya, highlighted the new device as a significant leap forward.
