Infinix Note 60 Pro: A Powerful Comeback with Snapdragon Chipset and Vapor Chamber cooling

Six color variants of the Infinix Note 60 Pro—Frost Silver, Mocha Brown, Mist Titanium, Deep Ocean Blue, Solar Orange, and Torino Black—showcasing the premium aluminum unibody design and the large horizontal camera module with Active Matrix Display.

Infinix has made a major comeback to the Snapdragon chipset with the Infinix Note 60 Pro, which makes it the first Infinix smartphone to use a Qualcomm chipset since 2019.

Infinix has thrown in a 3D ice cooling system, which is essentially an advanced vapour cooling chamber to keep the temps low so you can play games at peak performance for longer durations without thermal throttling.

Stay Cool Under Pressure: The Vapor Chamber Advantage

A vapour chamber in a smartphone is a special cooling system that helps keep the phone from overheating during heavy tasks like gaming, video recording, and using 5G.

The vapour chamber on the Infinix Note 60 Pro helps prevent thermal throttling, think of it like a heat spreading plate with liquid inside, which is a viable choice for gamers and power users.

Both of these two smartphones share a lot of similarieties the major difference being the chipset.

Design and Build

The design of both of these phones is really interesting, especially on the Infinix Note 60 Pro.

At the back of the Infinix Note 60 Pro is a camera island, which houses the camera, and the back plate is aluminium. Besides the camera, there is an active matrix display, which I am not a big fan of, and I doubt many people, especially here in Kenya, will get to actually use it, be it to show the notification or the time.

The Infinix Note 60, on the other hand, is simple, with an aluminium back, a camera island that houses the two cameras and a flashlight, and an Active Matrix Display.

Both phones are IP 64 dust and water-resistant, with MIL STD certification on the Note 60, but it’s not guaranteed for use in extreme conditions.

The color on the Infinix Note 60 Pro, especially the Solar orange, resembles that of the iPhone 17, even the wallpaper resembles that of the iPhone 1,7 which is a good thing, but I don’t like when brands copy other brands, just be creative with your own style.

Display

They both have a 6.78-inch 1220 by 2644 AMOLED display paired with a 144Hz refresh rate and a blindingly bright 4500 peak brightness. Both phones also support PWM dimming, which eases strain on the eyes while using the phone at night.

Both displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, which can withstand drops up to 1 meter.

Processor

This is where we see a major difference: the Infinix Note 60 Pro packs the new Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the Infinix Note 60 packs the Mediatek Dimensity 7400 on paper, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is the better choice for high-end gaming since it has the faster LPDDR5x memory compared to LPDDR5 on the Dimensity 7400.

For daily tasks like scrolling social media and replying to emails, you won’t notice any difference between these two SOCs.

For software, they both have Android 16 out of the box with XOS 16 skinned on top, and Infinix has promised up to 3 years of major OS updates.

Memory

On the storage front, the Infinix Note 60 Pro comes with two memory configurations: 256GB 8GB RAM and 256GB 12GB RAM. On the other hand, the Infinix Note 60 comes with 128GB 8GB RAM and 256GB 8GB RAM.

Camera

On the camera side of things, both smartphones have the same 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide lens. At the front, they both have a 13MP selfie shooter.

The good thing is that both the rear main camera and the selfie camera of these two smartphones can record videos up to 4k resolution.

Battery

Powering these two smartphones is a  6000mAh or 6500mAh battery on the Note 60 Pro and 6150mAh or 6500 on the Note 60.

The Note 60 Pro supports up to 90W wired charging, and it can charge from 0-100% in 41minutes on the 6500mAh battery and 0-100% in 35 minutes on the 6000mAh battery. The phone also supports 30W wireless charging, 7,5W reverse wired charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging.

On the other hand, the Note 60 juices up to 100% in 54 minutes with its 45W charger, and it supports wireless charging up to 30W.

Both phones support bypass charging while playing games to prevent overeating.

Verdict: Is it a Worthy Upgrade?

Both the Infinix Note 60 Pro and the Note 60 are great phones, for gamers I would recommend going for the Note 60 Pro with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, mainly because game developers tend to optimise their games on Snapdragon chipsets and this is not to say that the Dimensity 7400 on the Note is bad, it can handle your games well but not in the same level as the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4.

Infinix is really upping its game in 2026. I used to be a huge critic of the brand, but they are now proving not to play catch-up, instead they are taking the lead in the budget and midrange segment.
