Tecno Camon Slim Certified With 7000mAh Battery, 60W Charging

The Tecno Camon Slim has now appeared in certification listings, and its specs suggest a design that closely mirrors the recently launched Tecno Spark Slim.

The Tecno Camon Slim Certification: A 7000mAh Behemoth

The Camon Slim was spotted in the FCC listing and Transsion Calcare services, as reported by Gizmochina. The listing revealed the battery model BL-68DX, featuring a huge 7000mAh (6840mAh) rated.

The battery is unusually large for such a slim phone, and on top of that, Tecno is expected to slap a fast 60W charger.

Over the years, massive batteries were mostly reserved for bulky, rugged phones, gaming devices, and tablets, but with the rise of silicon-carbon battery technology, things are quickly changing.

These newer batteries are slimmer, charge faster, and pack more capacity without making phones overly thick.

We are now starting to see them appear even in mid-range smartphones like the Honor X9d, which features a massive 8300mAh battery.

Back to the Camon Slim, there is a TÜV Rheinland regional variation, where certain markets, such as parts of Europe and Saudi Arabia, might receive 5800mAh or 5430mAh variants, mainly due to local regulations or strict design tolerances.

60W Fast Charging: Balancing Capacity and Speed

According to the leaks, the phone is expected to support 60W fast charging, which honestly feels like the sweet spot. Anything slower can test your patience, especially with a large battery, though some heat buildup during charging is pretty much inevitable.

Core Specs: Dimensity 7100 and a 144Hz AMOLED Display

Under the hood, earlier leaks suggest the phone will be powered by the Mediatek 7100 (6nm), which is the same chipset we saw on the Infinix Note Edge with up to 8GB RAM.

It will also feature a huge 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a blazing-fast 144Hz refresh rate.

On the optics, the phone is expected to come with a horizontal pill-shaped module housing a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, plus a 13MP selfie shooter.

While the battery and display specs look impressive, expectations for the cameras should probably remain modest.

Low-light photography, in particular, could struggle with softer details and noticeable noise. Video recording may also be limited, as Tecno typically reserves higher-end camera features for its premium models, so 2K recording seems more likely than full 4K support on this device.

The Camon Slim will launch with Android 16 with HIOS 16 baked underneath. In regard to software support, the Tecno Camon Slim might get 2 years of OS updates and maybe 3 years of security patching.

Conclusion

If the leaks turn out to be accurate, the Tecno Camon Slim could end up being a surprisingly solid package, featuring a massive 7000mAh battery, 60W fast charging, a capable chipset, and a decent display setup.

That said, the whole “slim phone” trend still feels a bit unnecessary to some people. Sure, making a phone thinner is an impressive engineering achievement, but it does not really improve day-to-day performance or the overall user experience in a meaningful way.

Most users would probably be perfectly happy with a normally sized phone if it meant getting better battery life, improved cooling, or stronger cameras instead.

Rather than focusing heavily on making devices slimmer every year, many smartphone brands could arguably deliver more value by investing in better software optimization, longer software support, and a smoother overall user experience.
